Thanks for the reference to Ontario Canada. On the other hand at our farm we only plant what we sell to local customers. We do not export. WE have no mortgage and no debt as I prefer to purchase compost for the soil health and old used machinery to help in our farming with horses and sunflower oil fuelled tractors as needed. All of our own food is grown here for us and the animals. The important thing for me is to do what I can to have healthy soil. Any money is spent on the soil and we pay cash for everything. The only profit we get is additions to our soil health.

Being self sufficient is very helpful but a lot of work.

Banks are a major source of corporate money and any money in the banks is loaned out at more than 10 times what you have in the bank so I remove the money from the bank as cash and spend it on compost. There is no need for a credit card.. that only exacerbates the debt problems for most people.

There is lots of used machinery that can be easily repurposed or repaired.

The internet is has become a haven for fraudulent activity and I am using the telephone to communicate with my customers.... a novel idea!

Sorry for the rant but we need to call it as it is.
