Over the last decade, there has been a heated discussion about the possibility to sequester carbon in agriculture soils. I believe, nobody claims that it is impossible but there is huge disagreement about how much and for how long this can take place. Some claim that it is possible to sequester tons of carbon per hectare every year (for eternity?) while others claim that we are rather talking about some hundred kilos and that the quantity will level off and reach a new equilibrium.
